There is no restriction on the number of licenses
2 year registrations for Australian domain names
You license, not own the name
Domains must be at least two characters
It must not start with hyphens
Reserve list names may not be registered
Renewal is dependent upon eligibility

Usually used for commercial purposes

Must be
- (a) an Australian registered company or business.
- (b) an Australian partnership or sole trader.
- (c) a foreign company licensed to trade in Australia
- (d) an Australian trademark owner or Applicant.
- (e) an association incorporated in Australia.
- (f) an Australian commercial statutory body.
names must;
- (a) exactly match the registrants personal name.
- (b) be an acronym or abbreviation of the registrants name.
- (c) be closely related and substantially connected to the registrants personal name

.asn.au / org.au

Used by associations or non-commercial organizations

must be
- (a) an incorporated association in Australia.
- (b) a political party registered with the AEC.
- (c) a trade union or other organisation registered under the Workplace Relations Act 1996.
- (d) a sporting or special interest club operating in Australia.
- or
- (e) a charity operating in Australian.
- (f) a non-profit organisation operating in Australia.

Anyone can register any domain name as they are not regulated by .au Rules and Regulations.

Eligibility and Rules for .Asia Community

In order to be eligible for a .ASIA domain, at least one of the Domain Contacts (Registrant, Admin, Technical or Billing) associated with the Domain Name must be a legal entity in the DotAsia Community.
